80th BIRTHDAY PARTY · 2021
As you know by now, the city closed all events at their buildings, due to a rising Covid threat, including our own set for Sept. 15th in the Edmonds Plaza Room. Watch this page for news of rescheduling when the Pandemic conditions allow.|
Refunds for 2021's event were mailed on Sept. 14th and 16th.
EVENT CANCELED DUE TO COVID THREAT!
Sept 3, 2021 THIS JUST IN ...
... an unwelcome surprise from the City of Edmonds:
To: Renters of Plaza Room and Frances Anderson Center:
"In response to the rising cases of Covid-19, at this time the City has made the decision to close City buildings to the public. This change will become effective Friday, September 3, 2021, at the start of business hours. This means members of the public will not be allowed in the Frances Anderson Center or Edmonds Plaza Room and therefore, all rentals and recreation programs are effectively canceled."
We have worked diligently, for months, planning an event that would keep our classmates safe from the dreaded COVID virus and its variants. Though our Birthday Party is nearly two weeks away, it is doubtful the closures will be undone.
The city will begin refunds to renters of the Plaza Room next week (to EHS'58), AND, returns/refunds of registration fees & donations will begin as soon as a just-ordered supply of checks for the Reunion/Event Funds account arrive, hopefully before their ETA of Sept 23rd! (Sorry for that delay, but we've never needed any checks until now!)
PLEASE watch this page for any updates. Thank you.
