Wish I could have been there......but I gotta tell ya.....my daughter and granddaughter arrived in Anchorage the week before the reunion and I just couldn't bring myself to leave them even for 2 days......we haven't seen each other in 20 years......they left to go home on Sept. 26, and now that I have our computer back I can finally send this message. The choice was difficult particularly after seeing the reunion photos. I know that I missed out on a lot of fun.

After seven weeks of ins and outs of our kids, spouses, grandkids and one fabulous mother-in-law, I have some time to say my "Thanks to One and All" who worked so hard to make this a "Most Special Reunion!!!"
It was such fun visiting so many classmates. Remembering so many special moments, the singing, dancing, eating and enjoying the gifts of friendship old and new. Carolyn and I had great fun camping together, something we hadn't done since Girl Scouts and Summer Camp.
Nick and I thank you, Ward, for sharing your fantastic place and all the time and effort you put into preparing your place for our reunion. You are a splendid host and your place soothes the soul.

Thank you for the great photos* of the reunion. I wish I could have been there.    Jim Brennan ........... 08/24/03                   * [Website postings]
I concur with my classmates... this reunion was fabulous!
Ward Phillips was indeed the ultimate host, enabled by our hard-working Planning Committee of Ryn (Kathy Diemert) Streuli, Janet (Donnell) LaPlant, Joanne (Bradbury) Peterson, Rose (Wallace) Egan, Sharon (Mouldey) Johnson, Jackie (Brodie) Dieu, Norm Moran, and Duane Gillis PLUS all their helpers! Thank you all so much — your efforts really paid off! The tee shirts with the tiger were a delightful addition. This reunion was certainly one for the memory books of everyone there!     Helen (Ohlen) Gregory .............08/18/03
I'm so sorry I wasn't able to attend the reunion BUT - Thank you to the great organizers who got the booklet to me on the weekend of the reunion so I could feel like I was at least connected! Thank you so much! Keep in touch with the lunch dates. I hope to attend sometime before the 50th reunion.    Darlene (Wilkerson) Kolb ......................... 08/16/03

Dear Classmates,
I wish to thank all of you who sent me emails, phone calls and thank you notes. Your thoughts are very much appreciated and I love how each of you had so much fun and enjoyed all that we did at the farm to make it very special for the class of '58.
I loved every minute of the reunion and seeing all of you. I loved my High School years and all my friendships during those times. It was an honor to host all of you and I hope to see more of everyone in the future.
God Bless,     Ward Phillips ................... 08/12/03

Congratulations! All of you worked so hard and it showed. Everything was wonderful and so well planned. I would have been lost if not for the YOUNG photo tags we were given. It was such a brain tease, flipping back all those years and recalling events and classes. Just amazing to see who ended up together......still.
Everyone was so friendly and I felt like 45 years just melted away. Even the weather was perfect. The old cars on the lawn brought back memories. (I tried to put the Corvette in my flight bag but it wouldn't fit.) Joan fell in love with the kissing Camel.
Seattle/Edmonds still holds a warm place in my heart. It was unbelievable that so much time has rushed past. So many changes in your area. As I nibbled on the yummy Choc. Chip cookies (Someone sure knows how to bake), twirled my EHS '58 Key Chain and wearing my new Tiger tee shirt, I really felt like I had returned HOME. You were great Host and Hostess.
Wish I could attend your monthly luncheons. It must be fun seeing everyone so often. Hope to see all of you in five years. Maybe by then you'll be rested. You could not have done a better job.
"Thanks," again and Best Wishes. Love to all.    Genny Stilwell Miles .......... 08/11/03
It was great. The setting was perfect, the planning was superb, the turnout was great and it was the most congenial crowd that could have been hoped for. Even the Seattle weather cooperated and gave us warm, nearly hot, but not uncomfortable hot conditions. Congratulations to the planning group for a job well done and to Ward for his unselfish contributions.    Tom Dodds ............. 08/04/03

The reunion at Ward's lovely White Deer Farm evolved into a sunny holiday of classmates laughing, eating, singing, dancing, walking, sitting around RV's and campfires, simply sharing time together, with an occasional solitary break to visit the beach. What a wonderful event! Beginning with the 25 who arrived on Friday and continuing through Sunday morning, our classmates revisited many relationships and formed new ones with people they scarcely knew in high school. Ward's generosity of spirit shone through in all that he shared...not to mention the live band he treated us to. I loved it all.
Thanks to Ward and Bruce for putting up my tent while I, modeling after a traditional '50s woman, stood aside and read the instructions to them! Thanks to all of you who demonstrated admirable humility in sharing about your remarkable lives. I honor all of you...our class perhaps has more than the average who are so involved in living they don't care about keeping score. Wonderful. You've done so many grand things...and continue to add to your accomplishments. Thanks for being casual and comfortable and easy to be around. As always, I appreciate your many kindnesses...not the least of which was to look at photos of my brand new first grandchild, Annika. Most of all, I suppose, I thank you for letting me be 17 again, just for a couple of days.
Fondly, Joanne Bradbury Peterson ...... p.s. I wonder, did anyone figure out who starred in A Summer Place ? And how come I never heard In the Still of the Night, my favorite of all from Canteen? ............ 08/02/03
[NOTE:  A Summer Place  starred Sandra Dee, Troy Donahue, Richard Egan and Dorothy McGuire.]
This was the first reunion that I have had the privilege to attend — and everything was perfect. One hears horror stories about class reunions, and I was a little worried. "Not to worry." What a fun time with wonderful old friends, a fantastic host and grounds, and committees that took over and made everything happen. Thank you for finding me. Thank you Ward for the special treat of being invited to your "special place;" and it is truly special. What a perfect day!!!! Lila Ekstedt Sween ............... 07/29/03
Kudos to the Reunion Committee! Everything - the food, the location, the conversation, the booklet, the T-shirts, the weather (!) - was perfect. We had even more fun that we expected! Many thanks to all those involved for a very fun day. I am proud of all our classmates and their accomplishments! Also, again thanks to Helen for all your work on the website - you're fantastic! Willie and Nancy (Erickson) Schaub ........... 07/28/03
The Reunion was fabulous - the best one so far! Thanks to everyone who had a part in the planning & who worked so hard to make it such a success. And to Ward for being our most organized & gracious host, opening his little part of the world for our enjoyment. Greg & I had a wonderful time!   (Greg & Gail Bergere) ......... 07/28/03
